The History Of Animated GIF Images

Catzilla animated GIF image

CATZILLA!!! MEOWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!! (icanhascheezburger.com)

I’ll be completely honest, the only reason I watched this video is because the YouTube screenshot was of the animated GIF image you see above, and I thought, I must watch this video! Then I watched and thought, I must find this LOLcat GIF!  Then I found it and thought, I must post this on PBAL!

So that’s pretty much it.  Animated Catzilla.  Roaring down a red and white Eiffel Tower.

Oh, right, and here’s the actual video that talks about the history of the GIF file…

So what say you, PBAL readers?  Is it pronounced Gif or Jif?  I’ve always said Gif.  With a hard G.  I’ll support my case with the comment left by YouTube user janussaint:

Its pronounced JIF because it stands for Jraphics Interchange Format. >:)
