Once again, I am amazed by technology.  Robots are nothing new, but they’re still incredible.  And ping pong robots have been around for a short while, but I’ve never seen one before.  Have you?

Regardless of whether or not you’ve seen one before, take a look at this video and you’ll be able to say that you’ve seen two robots playing ping pong against each other.

According to PlasticPals.com, these robots stand 5’3″ tall and weight 121 pounds each.  They don’t look that short though, standing next to the people in the video.  Oh wait.  They’re Asian.  I forgot my people are small.

Each robot uses 120 FPS cameras that track the speed, direction, and position of the ping pong balls in play.  And with a reaction time of 0.05 to 0.01 seconds, the two robots are able to rally with each other, as well as with human opponents.

No word on whether they submitted to their human counterparts or if they destroyed them.  In ping pong or otherwise.

Thanks to CrunchGear for the story.
