iPhone SLR Mount

Camera phones have improved so much, and they just got better.

A picture is worth a thousand words.  That’s why it’s good to have a nice camera to take great photos.  It’s also important to be able to capture the moment… at any moment, which makes camera phones so useful.

It’s incredible how camera technology has advanced in phones.  It has gotten to the point that some smart phones take better pictures than my old point and shoot.  But then I got my Canon 7D DSLR and I was set.  There was no way a phone’s camera was going to take better pictures than me now.

Well, I may have spoken too soon, because now you can attach your SLR lenses to your iPhone…

That's just ludicrous.

Um… what?  Is this not incredibly ridiculous?  A 70-200mm lens mounted on the iPhone’s tiny camera?  Even a much smaller lens still looks silly.

That's still ludicrous.

But hey, if it enables you to take some great pictures, who cares how crazy it is?  It may not save you much from carrying bulky equipment because you still have to lug around your lenses, but it will save you the money of needing to buy a nice camera.

If I didn’t have my own DSLR and got an iPhone, would I get one of these?  Probably not.  But since I already have my own SLR lenses…

Still probably not.

The iPhone SLR Mount can be purchased for either Canon or Nikon lenses for $249 at photojojo.com.  Thanks to both GadgetReview and werd.com for the info.
