It is not unusual for me to track a movie for over a year. I’ll read news about the development or about its premiere at a film festival, and if the movie sounds interesting, I’ll keep an eye on it. I’ll look for news of who is distributing the film and when. I’ll try to hunt down a trailer. That’s really standard operating procedure for me.
Lance on the other hand does not do this. So when he started talking to me about The Raid (which has since been retitled The Raid: Redemption) a year before the movie was released, I was surprised. But it all made sense when he told me Linkin Park band member Mike Shinoda had done the score for the film. So we both ended tracking the film until its release this past Friday.
Oh there was one very significant reason we were tracking this film’s progress: the action looks crazy, intense, awesome, inventive, ridiculous, thrilling, intricate, raw, in your face, fantastic, and just cool. But don’t take my word for it. Watch the trailer.
Lance and I are going to see this movie today. I expect to be thoroughly kicked in the face by awesome.
