Lance and I are going to see The Avengers today. Finally. In fact, we will be in the theater, basking in the film’s glory, when this post is published. It’s months of waiting. Who am I kidding? It’s been years of waiting. Ever since Nick Fury stepped out of the shadows after the credits in the first Iron Man film. It’s all been building to this, and I can’t wait to take it all in. But for today’s post, I wanted to go back to when this film became a reality, when we saw what Marvel hath wrought. And it was good.
Let us go back to Comic-con.
This video still gives me chills. Looking at that cast is overwhelming. And that’s a testament to all the work Marvel put in to get here. They have done something that has never been done in film before: they carried a storyline across 4 franchises and 5 films, all building to a sixth film where all those threads would unite.
I tip my hat to you Marvel. Well done. Now shut up and take my money!
