A supercut is a massive compilation highlighting a very specific element of movies or television. Usually this is used to point out an overused cliché. Sometimes it is used to highlight the idiosyncrasies of a particular artist, usually an actor. These supercuts are usually used to criticize but can also be a celebration.
Oh, Nicolas Cage. What can I say that hasn’t been said about him so many times before? Yes, he is awesome. Yes, he is terrible. Yes, he is terribly awesome. Yes, he is a genuinely good actor. All of these things are true. Regardless of the project, the thing I admire about him is his commitment to each of his roles. You can see it in his signature freak out. One thing the man always seems very aware of is the movie he is in. As evidence, I present this supercut by Movie Miscellany of the 100 greatest Nicolas Cage quotes.

While that may just seem like a lot of yelling, there are different emotions behind the yelling, different weights. Sometimes Cage feels like he is under attack. Sometimes he is a man teetering on the edge and it is terrifying. Sometimes he is a man teetering on the edge and it is hilarious, like when he decides to recite the alphabet in the middle of a scene.
