Please help me answer the following: ”Plank” refers to…
A) A long, flat piece of timber, thicker than a board.
B) To be forced, as by pirates, to walk to one’s death by stepping off a plank.
C) An isometric core strength exercise.
D) A really strange new craze that’s apparently taking over Australia.
If you answered D), you’re correct. Somehow. I don’t quite understand the appeal of planking (yet?) from my limited exposure to it, but maybe you can make some sense of this video…
Yes, that’s right. You lay flat, face down, point your fingers and your toes, and… Riiiiiiight… I guess it’s kind of like freerunning, where you attempt to do crazy things on crazy obstacles, and creativity counts.
Is this cool to you, or is it just strange? Do you think it will catch on in America?
As I wrap this up, I’d like to point out that a “plank” is British slang for “a stupid person; idiot” according to dictionary.com. Just sayin’.
Thanks to PBAL Pal Candice for um… laying this out for us.
