A person’s home says a lot about a person. A well-gardened yard shows the owner is caring and diligent. A nice car in in the garage shows the owner is wealthy. And one of these door mats shows the owner is incredibly nerdy. Or an elitist Apple fanboy.
I wonder how many people would actually “slide” when they entered. Even if it obviously wouldn’t do anything, I’m sure people would see it, laugh, and make a sliding motion for the fun of it.
If you really wanted to, you could install an RFID sensor so that your door unlocks when you’re in close proximity (kind of like car doors these days). So you walk up to the door, the sensor detects your keys in your pocket/purse and unlocks, and you “slide to unlock” for fun. And then when a burglar sees you do that and tries it for himself, no luck.
Not a fan of the iPhone? Then choose from some of these other nerdy options…
Obviously this one is binary code, but what does this geeky welcome mat actually say? ”Welcome” of course! Duh! What else would a welcome mat say?
Well, maybe I shouldn’t say that because they can say a number of different messages. This next one is my favorite.
Amazing. I think it’s pretty clear what the mat is saying. But for those who don’t get the reference, 127.0.0.1 is the IP address to “home” or “localhost,” which is fancy language for “this computer.”
Thanks to G4TV for posting the “Slide To Unlock” mat. All of these can be purchased on GetDigital.de, but it helps if you understand German.
